On Tuesday, April 24th, the Club made its annual presentation of dictionaries to 3rd graders at Beecher Road School in Woodbridge.
The 3rd grade students of BRS were all enthusiastic and well-behaved as they assembled in the school's cafeteria to receive a brand new dictionary from the Club. After a brief introduction from the Club's president Tony Anastasio, Rotary members Paula Cofrancesco, Jessica Halprin, Dorothy Martino, and Robyn Reilly, handed out copies of Webster's Student Dictionary to more than 100 students. Afterwards, the students participated in a lively trivia game, having to search their new dictionaries for answers.
Principal Gina Prisco was on hand to oversee the "time-honored tradition" and pose for pictures with several of the students and Rotarians. Principal Prisco emphasized how important BRS views this event and even shared one student's feedback: "I'm going to put mine in my collection of favorite books."
